Hot Topic: Coloring Books

Courtesy of the Evergreen State College library, here is a list of all the coloring books published by the Federal government and available online.

These are a great way for kids to learn about the government and other issues. They are also a great way to kill time at work. Trust me.

Jeff & Tracey's Butterflies

So many butterflies. So little time to look at them all!

National Biological Information Infostructure

This web site dubs itself as your home for biological information on the web. I'm no expert on biological information, but I'm betting this is true. This site is chock-a-block with information on biological issues, perspectives, data, and even teaching resources.

All right, all you bio-heads, knock yourselves out!

The diary of a young woman who travels to the Chernobyl "Ghost Town" on her motorcycle. Includes photos along with her thoughts and reminiscences.

I can hardly believe it has been 20 years.

Top 100 April Fools Hoaxes Of All Time

Well, I made it through another April Fools Day without getting seriously pranked. My husband tried to get me to believe that he had quit his job, but even I'm not gullible enough to fall for that crock!

Here is a list of the most amazing April Fools hoaxes of all time. These are just absolutely brilliant. And it gives me hope that I'm not the most gullible person on the earth. Can you believe that people actually fell for the Taco Liberty Bell?!?!?

RIP Dan Curtis

The producer and director of Dark Shadows died of brain cancer on 3/27/06.

I only recently got re-interested in Dark Shadows and started buying the DVD box sets. Now, there's a soap opera worth getting addicted to!

I've only watched the first two box sets, so I have a long way to go. I tried watching the show when I was a kid - it must have been in reruns or syndication by then - but my mother wouldn't let me. I kept meaning to rent the videos, but never quite got around to it.
